Toni Atkins Lesbian Fund

Helps low-income and uninsured lesbians and bisexual women access vital health care resources. The fund is administered by the LGBT Center.

Queen Eddie Youth Fund

This fund provides assistance to San Diego LGBT youth ages 13-18 for education related expenses, books, supplies, clothing, bus passes and food. The fund is administered by the LGBT Center.

The Harvey Milk/Nicole Murray Ramirez Student Scholarship

One of the nation’s oldest LGBT student scholarship funds, it has granted well over $200,000 worth of financial aid to LGBT students in San Diego County.

Ben Dillingham Community Grant

Established in 2000, it has awarded over $80,000 in financial assistance, mostly for burial expenses of children and LGBT citizens who could not afford this last one dignity in life.

Scott Carlson Thanksgiving Dinner

Founded in the early 1980’s by AIDS activist Scott Carlson this now annual event provides a traditional thanksgiving dinner for those ill with HIV-AIDS, Cancer, homeless and those in need. Also delivers dinners to local hospitals and grocery cards to LGBT families in need.

The Tijuana AIDS Fund

For over 30 years this fund has helped support numerous AIDS agencies and hospitals in Mexico. Founded by the courts of Canada and the U.S.A. it has raised over $250,000 for HIV-AIDS concerns in Mexico.

Community Easter Egg Hunt

Now in its 8th year this traditional children’s Easter egg hunt is held every year at the Trolley Barn Park in University Heights. Last year over 600 children from 1-11 years old attended and each received an Easter basket. This event is supported by many LGBT businesses and is co-sponsored by the Center, Leather organizations and many other LGBT groups.

Toys for Kids Christmas Drive

In the early 1970s the U.S. Marine Corps would not accept toys from the “homosexual” community, so the Imperial Court de San Diego established its own toy drive that has provided tens of thousands of toys for children living below the poverty line.

Winter Blanket and Family Matters Food Drive

A half hour away in Tijuana, during the winter months each year, dozens of babies and elderly die because of the cold. This annual project provides much needed clothing and blankets to residents of Tijuana, as well as to local San Diego homeless and veterans. During the holidays, the Imperial Court also provides food and grocery vouchers for the families of Family Matters.

All of these events with the exception of the Scott Carlson Dinner were founded or co-founded by community activist Nicole Murray Ramirez.
