Lambda Archives is pleased to announce the 2011 Heroes, Pioneers and Trailblazers Fundraising and Awards Gala. The event will take place on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 6 pm in the Auditorium at The Center, 3909 Centre Street, San Diego, 92103.
Begun in 2007, Lambda Archives’ annual fundraising event honors a group of outstanding individuals whose work has made a profound impact on San Diego’s LGBT community. The event also raises important funds for the preservation of historic records, artifacts and memorabilia of the San Diego LGBT community.
The mission of the Lambda Archives of San Diego (LASD) is to collect, preserve, and teach the history of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the San Diego and Northern Baja California region. Although most of the collection dates from the 1970s and beyond, there are original materials dating back to the 1930s. Lambda Archives has dedicated itself to preserving and interpreting this important historical record.
